As a senior geologist I initiate and supervise
exploration/exploitation projects and report the results to the superior
management. I prepare and perform exploration/exploitation activities, supervise
geologists, field technicians and contractors, communicate with land owners and
interested parties. I participate in groups planning and carrying out projects
for the company’s development.
- Exploration and design surface exploitation for
quarries, collect and upload the primary data/samples (from drillings and other
geological methods: geochemistry, geophysics) and limit the interest area;
- Drawing geological maps (with special programs:
Surfer, MapInfo, AutoCAD, Petrel) and read characteristics maps such as:
calculating the reservoir bulk volume, mineral and rocks identification, soil
resistivity, continuous layers – fault determination etc;
- Drilling operations and analyses: microscopy,
thin section, laboratory investigation (concentration of organic materials,
mineral identifications etc.), geological columns, porosity, granulometry,
permeability, structure/texture etc;
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team
environment, including geoscientists, reservoir engineers, drilling engineers,
production engineers and land-persons, to successfully achieve the company’s
goals; I am leading a team and I supervise all the external geological
projects.

I worked with a lot of
members of a cross-functional development team, including European experts and professional
level specialist, landsmen, reservoir and drilling engineers, to maximize the
value of the company’s assets, propose new business plans, also. This included:
- Plan management on
headquarters - France 2005;
- Coordinates and
supervises shallow hazards studies and site investigations.
Ensures all geological
uncertainties and risks are incorporated into forward exploration and
developments plans, and are included in all estimates of reserves. Liaise with
other team members to carry out subsurface evaluation and analysis to propose
well locations and pick wells to fulfill business needs, as well as defining
necessary data gathering like logging, coring etc.
Contributes to all
phases of planning, delivery and evaluation of well operations as assigned,
including “Geological Documents”, data gathering, daily reporting and post-well
studies and Kick off strategy for new projects like: exploitation for quarries
(granite & basalt) and ballast-holes (sand and gravel). Technical solutions
for exploitation: safety design, quarry design, exploitation maps, analyzing
samples, etc. Carry out engineering geology research and geohazard assessment,
including field survey and preparing documents for the exploration / production

creating research programs for industries.
My first project was to create a quick and useful
method for geological profiles, interpreter for geological prospecting -
hydrocarbons, oil, natural gas (geophysical methods, especial electrometric and
seismic) using geological software, with data bases, generate 2D and 3D models
for prospects to find a better accuracy in estimation of geometry and rock
properties or stratigraphic prediction (combine and compare the well log /
mud-logger and seismic data for the best view of field), upload and process
information other geological determination.

provide software training to company clients, supporting the pre –sales

Romanian oil and gas industry and internationally.
Activities: Integrate geological, geophysical and
well data into the company’s geology models, generate regional models and
interpretations to define play trends of interest, monitor and QA well data
acquisitions within operated and non-operated areas, contribute to subsurface
mapping depth conversion projects to quantify areas, production stratigraphic /
structural cross sections and sedimentology analysis etc.
Field activity, mining operations, geological
(geochemistry, stratigraphy) and geophysical prospection. Mud-logger specialist
and I was in charge with laboratory determination such as: granulometry and
organic components. I was responsible with the prospecting activities and field
work projects, reservoir identification (for hydrocarbons-oil and mineral
deposits), properties of reservoir determination, economic risk assessment.
Reservoir characterization: field development
planning, drilling operations support, prospect generation and evaluation,
portfolio analysis and management, volumetric estimation, risking.
I created multiple detailed lithological
cross-sections and isotropic contour maps using various data sets; map of
mineral dispersions regarding geochemical analyses, explore specific areas of
the earth to work out its structure and the types of rocks or minerals that exist,
study rock cores, cuttings and samples, examine geological specimens in
laboratories using optical and electron microscopes-ray diffraction, chemical
and mechanical techniques. Open new mining opportunities: gold, silver, copper
and iron, technical supervisor for mining operation and surface operations,
head round and technical executor responsible with quarry activities and
technical issues (maintenance for bulldozers, loaders, trucks-dumpers).
